You will explore some of North Queensland's most awe-inspiring natural environments - ancient rainforests, costal woodlands, expansive wetlands and the bountiful coral sea - all while connecting directly with the indigenous custodians on their own country to experience their unique culture.

This is a boutique tour catering for small groups up to twenty people. Walk in the footsteps of this ancient culture and spend time with some of the most amazing people that you will ever meet.

Day 1 - Sunset 'Welcome to Country' with the traditional custodians, the Wulgurokaba from the top of castle hill with views over Townsville and Magnetic Island.

Day 2 - Visit the world's oldest continual surviving rainforest at the Paluma Range - traditional country of the Nywaigi and Gugu Badhun peoples. Learn about the bush foods and medicines available in the rainforest. Overnight at Hidden Valley Cabins, Australia's first 100% Carbon Neutral resort and spot the elusive platypus.

Day 3 - View Wallaman Falls - the tallest sheer drop waterfall in Australia, on Warrgamay country. Then continue onto Mungalla Station for your introduction to Nwaigi Aboriginal culture. Here we take part in traditional activities and finish the evening with a Kupmurri - an authentic style of underground cooking.

Day 4 - Meet the Girramay people on their sea country learning of the powerful ancestral spirit, Giroo-Gurrll, a half-man half-eel who emerged during the Jujaba or creation time. Participate in traditional weaving and Midja building with the Jirrbal people of the rainforest. Overnight at Echo Adventure & Cultural Camp with the Jirrbal people.

Day 5 - Experience the amazing Spirit of the Rainforest walk with our Jirrbal guides, walking in the footsteps of their ancestors who have walked the rainforest path for tens of thousands of years.

The full tour takes five days to complete however, shorter three day, two night tours are available on request for those with limited time.
