SS Yongala Dive - Magnetic Island
Dive the SS Yongala from Townsville or Magnetic Island, one of the world's greatest wreck dives. The SS Yongala is a national historic site that lies within the beautiful Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, near Townsville. The artefacts, marine life and variety of corals that cover the wreck are spectacular. The SS Yongala sank during a cyclone in 1911 with the loss of all 121 lives on board. The wreck begins 14m below the surface and sits on a sandy bottom at 28m. Because Adrenalin Dive is committed to protecting our natural environment, our Yongala Day Trip is Eco Certified by Ecotourism Australia.
All divers with less than 15 logged dives will be accompanied by our dive staff on Guided Dives (see additional costs).
Minimum experience required to dive the Yongala is Open Water Scuba Diver certification with 6 logged dives
